Vacuum systems are surrounded by the earth’s atmosphere. To create vacuum, it is necessary to pump air out of a system. The internationally accepted unit of vacuum measurement is the Torr.

The Steam Jet Ejector consists of three basic parts: Steam nozzle, Suction Chamber and Diffuser. Steam enters the motive steam nozzle from the steam chest. The nozzle extension is used to establish the position of the motive steam nozzle relative to the diffuser inlet. High pressure motive steam expands across a converging-diverging nozzle and is thus accelerated to a supersonic velocity.

The high velocity motive stream entrain the mixture is accomplished across the diffuser by conversion of velocity to pressure head. This is converted to velocity head in the motive steam nozzle, velocity heads is converted to pressure head in diffuser.

Steam Jet Ejector offer an economical means producing vacuum. It has no any moving parts, simple operation.

Ejector construction:

The ease of Steam Jet Ejector design permits fabrication from any welded material i.e. Carbon Steel, Stainless Steel, Hastelloy, Titanium, Graphite construction.

No of Stages:

Single Stage Ejector creates vacuum from atmospheric to 75 mm Hg A based on provided steam pressure. Higher vacuum more than 1 mm Hg A, may be achieved by multistage ejector. Multi stage ejector require either Barometric or Indirect type condensers. Condenser is require to reduce steam under certain conditions, recover condensate.

Ejector can handle process gases i.e. air, water vapour, SO2, Hexane, Toluene, EG and many other organic & inorganic vapours.

Agitated Thin Film Dryer or ATFD is the most efficient and mandatory equipment to separate out salt from high concentrated feed to achieve complete ZLD for any type of industry.

Agitated thin film dryer consists of:

· The Jacketed Dryer with inside rotor scrapper for film creation , salt                   

      separation and salt scrapping.

· Entrainment Separator for Flashing 

· Surface condenser for recovery of the condensate.

· Blower to create the negative draft for flash vapor.

 

Dryer is perfect combination of Gear assembly, distribution plate, shaft with rotating blades (Curved Blades used for film creation & flat Blades used for scrapping )and inner shell with steam jacket. Prior to start evaporation process first cooling water circulation is started and some negative pressure is maintained in the system by blower.

Through feed pump Feed from the feed tank enters into the inside surface of the ATFD through distribution plate which generates the even distribution the feed.

Steam is being provided in the jacket attached with the inner side of the shell. And by this contact conductive heat transfer occurs which leads to evaporation of water from the concentrated liquid and salt will be precipitated out and deposited on to the inner surface of the shell.

 

Water-Vapor mixture generated in system, by the help of blower passes through the small vapor separator where water particles are drawn off and vapor rises and drawn to the surface condenser where it gets condensed and this pure water can be used in a various application.

Shaft with blades is continuously rotating in the inner shell, maintaining small clearance from the wall and removing precipitated salt from the wall surface.

Giving salt with max. moisture contain of 10-15 %. This is how system works continuously and we can achieve ZLD.

As ATFD is giving complete separation of water and salt, leads to a complete, most efficient and true mean of zero liquid discharge system
